I learned that with any job, no matter the environment, will always require patience and a steady head. The hardest part of the job was just learning to work through the stress of busy days and dealing with aggravated customers.

The most enjoyable part of the job was of course the benefits like free drinks and movies, and how friendly the employees and supervisors were. All in all, management could of been a lot more strict but usually felt like a careless person just ordering people around. Lobby ushers would be oblivious to this and managers would simply order ushers to stop what they were doing in order to come clean up said mess. Management was decent, somewhat mediocre at managing employees, as I'd always notice the lobby dirty with popcorn or spilled drinks all over the ground. Although is does indeed become stressful at times on busy days, this happens with any job, and it is something to be expected that I learned to work through. As for management in my location, they were pretty nice and did their job well when i first started but after about a year we had 3 new managers and went through many supervisors that were randomly brought in and had no clue what they were doing and constantly asking me questions that they should know as the manager or supervisor which was another added reason - more.Ī typical day at work is usually chill/relaxed having to do what I'm told and going out of my way for customers and providing the best experience for them. And moving up in pay is pretty much not a thing considering after my entire year of working there i never got a raise and the only way to get one is by becoming a crew lead which forces you to give up weekends and they only give you about a 50 cent raise. You will be rushed through your training and will need to work until almost 4am on big movies or Christmas. Avoid starting during any of the holidays here.

The reason i stress to it is only a good temporary job is because during the normal non holiday months it will be very slow actually feels worth the minimum wage but when it comes to a big movie release or the holidays you will be overworked and the pay then doesn't feel worth it especially with the kind of rude guest you will run into which was 100% the worst part of the job. This was my first job and i will say it was pretty easy once you get used to everything although you will do every job and can't choose where you want to be whether it's cleaning, sales, cooking or greeter you will eventually be doing all of them. I worked with AMC for over a year (which is not very common in that job) and i will say it's a good job for anyone looking to get their foot in the door for more opportunities and better your skills.
